the hotel

Sixteen acres of mango orchards amid the raw, untamed, and unmistakably wild forest of Gir reveal the contrasts and pleasures of staying at The Postcard Gir. The fifteen rooms offer plenty of privacy ensuring that the only sounds you hear are the sounds of migrating birds, or of course, the unmistakable roar of a welcoming lion. Just the place to ponder life’s big questions. Like which salad to have for lunch. You get the picture.

living

Raw yet luxurious, the fifteen rooms at The Postcard Gir are a modernist refuge in a surrounding that is as old as time itself. The rooms can be best described as, well, roomy, with ample light and space letting in the changing light, and views of the sprawling mango orchards. Not to mention, its unmistakable fragrance. Safe to say, you’ll settle in nicely.

experiences

Early riser or not, a chance to visit our neighbourhood lions Simba, Bhuro or Allauddin, is always on the cards, thanks to three safaris a day. A sighting is all but sure given- the Gir National Sanctuary is home to 674 lions at last count. There’s more on offer beyond the company of lions, of course. A picnic? Check. A leisurely nature trail? Sure. A beach to yourself at Diu? We thought you’d never ask.

dining

Fun fact: Khichdi, which found favour among the Mughals, is in fact a Persian import. More surprises lay in store as you flick through our menu that acknowledges the region’s wider Parsi influence (Salli Boti, for instance) as well its more local ones. Including fresh pomfret from Veraval, the classic Gujarati thali, or of course, Khichdi.

Memorable Stay

This was my first stay at a postcard hotel and they've won our hearts. Attention to detail. Refusing for something is not in their dictionary. Every time you step out of property and return back you're welcomed by wet towels and lemonades 👌. After our safari we had kept our shoes outside our room as it was full of dust and to our surprise it was cleaned and kept .GM and his team is always smiling and inquisitive about your comfortable stay .Don't miss the vintage car ride and walk with jassu bhai . Mr Subin is one man who's hospitality is at another level.Best part of the hotel was anytime check-in and any time check out & anytime breakfast. Thank you Postcard Gir for a wonderful experience with fond memories ❤️ and heartfelt check out greetings.

The Postcard , Gir

We have stayed inThe Postcard, Gir for 3 nights and we loved our stay. They arranged personal vehicle for Gir Safari and we had amazing Lion sightings. Few things I liked about the property
1. There isn’t any specific check in / checkout time, it’s more like a 24 hour stay as long as we checkin after 6am

2. Breakfast is served even around 11.30/12 pms sometimes and it’s freshly prepared. Their food is delicious and I had best Pav Bhaji I ever had here and (I did stay in lot of luxury properties in India)

3. Staff is extremely sweet and cared about minute details like providing water bottles and hats, binoculars during Safari ( In case if we forget to carry them)

4. Their service is what sets them apart from other hotel chains.

I absolutely recommend Postcard if you are someone who are looking for a luxurious stay amid forest.

Surprise in Gir

The Postcard Hotel ,Gir . A short break at this place has been nothing but a pure bliss with relaxation and lots of pampering by the team members at The Postcard, Gir. One of the rare hotels I loved and would love to return to again for a longer break .We had the most amazing stay here doing the safari for one but innumerable other trail walks and painting sessions at this beautiful resort which is green all over with a lot of their own mango and other fruit trees and simply relaxing in the Verandah of our villa .Raw but luxurious ,spacious and comfortable villas with all modern amenities, great ambiance and excellent hospitality ,courteous, helpful and kind staff and team members who are there for you at anytime and anywhere and not to mention, their food...ufff , so damn delicious and mouthwatering, freshly made from their organic produce on their property, awesome story telling session by one of tribal people who lives there in the forest ,very informative and interesting night trail walks and amazing trail walks by the river side seeing crocodiles and different birds or you can simply take the vintage drive through the forest and village ...what more can one ask for ?

Thank you so much team Postcard,Gir for making our stay such a memorable one with happy moments and specially taking care of mom and pampering us with the goodies.

I would like to thank the following team members - Kartik Sir ,Prashant and team from Housekeeping, Subin Mayank and Suryansh from fnb team , chef Mithun ,Anil and Sanavar and Sameer ,Jashu and Raja from front office team and Pratik - our guide during safari ,without whom we wouldn't have spotted the leopard and lions ,also thanks to Pravin with whom our Vintage car drive was an enjoyable one and Jasu who is an excellent human being and a fantastic story teller .Thank you entire team for everything and for such a fabulous time there.

We highly recommend everyone to visit Gir and stay here for an excellent experience.

A 7 star experience and beyond

My first safari experience and any other I will have after this will have big shoes to fill. There is nothing I can fault the hotel or its staff with. Right from the meals to the ambience to the rooms, the cleanliness, friendliness of the staff and their willingness to fulfill every desire and wish - the stay was beyond what we have experienced any where else and probably a 7 star experience! The hotel has their own vegetable farm, food was prepared with veggies from their own farm, the chefs made fresh food everyday on request. We were also lucky enough to see lions at every safari we went on, we had booked 4 safaris and saw lions on each. The Postcard hotel Gir has thoroughly spoilt us and there is no hotel that can match up to its hospitality

Where luxury rhymes with service

An exquisite experience exactly as the motto : luxury and simplicity. The setting is charming, very peaceful, full of birds. The food is excellent. The chef and the team will adapt all your requests. The spa treatments are fabulous especially the signature hot lava stone massage. The therapists are top level and the spa manager runs her staff with great efficiency. But most of all, the professionnalism and the attention of the whole team for any details. Service is perfection ! And a special word for Subin, so kind, professional and joyful 🙏
